Milovan Rajevac must stay – Muntari

Ghana and Inter midfielder Sulley Muntari wants coach Milovan Rajevac to hold on to the Black Stars' job despite their intermittent altercations.

"I don't take the decision but I prefer him staying because now he knows us very well," he told Joy FM.

"We know him too and we both know our likes and dislikes and we are living like a family now so we sending him away or he not renewing his contract is going be a problem for the new coach to know us."

The 56-year-old Serbian's contract ends in August and the Ghana FA is scheduled to hold a crunch meeting with him for an agreement.

Rajevac had earlier told the Ghanaian FA website that he wants to stay to build a stronger team for Brazil 2014.

"Although I have received some offers, I want to continue my work here. I am happy here.

"I want to state that I haven't mentioned anything about money and nobody has. Neither the GFA nor me have raised an issue about money."

Ghana’s preparations for the 2012 African Nations Cup qualifying campaign will get under way with a friendly against South Africa.

Milovan Rajevac’s Black Stars will return to the 2010 World Cup host nation for an international friendly against the Bafana Bafana on August 11.

The game, the first for both sides after the Word Cup finals will be played at the Soccer City Stadium in Johannesburg.

Ghana would use the friendly as build-up to the African Nations Cup qualifying in September against Swaziland, who play a similar style like the Bafana Bafana.

The road to Gabon and Equatorial Guinea in 2012 gets under way on the first weekend of September against Swaziland with the Black Stars playing the first group match away from home.

The game in the Rainbow Nation will also serve as a sign of appreciation for the wonderful support accorded Ghana during the World Cup, as the Black Stars return to a familiar ground.
