Bafana Bafana coach Carlos Alberto Parreira has named his squad to meet Belo Horizonte giants Cruzeiro at the Mineirão Stadium later today.

According the Brazilian media, the South African team for the match that will be televised nationally in Brazil by Globo International TV is: Itumeleng Khune; Siboniso Gaxa, Bongani Khumalo, Siyabonga Sangweni, Innocent Mdledle; Lance Davids, Thanduyise Khuboni, Teko Modise, Siphiwe Tshabalala; Thulasizwe Mbuyane; Katlego Mphela.

Coach Adilson Batista has named Fábio, Jonathan, Leonardo Silva, Caçapa, Diego Renan; Henrique, Marquinhos Paraná, Pedro Ken e Roger; Kléber and Thiago Ribeiro for the club.

According to the club, arrangements have been made for those South African players who do not feature today to play against Cruzeiro’s reserve side tomorrow.

Today’s match against Bafana Bafana will end a drought of 27 years since Cruzeiro last played against a country’s national team. They last played against Honduras in 1983.

Im 100% Behind Bafana But I can tell you know we are not going to make it past the first round If Khune is No.1.The same thing happened last year where moneeb was better than Khune thru the season but got kicked out of the team and they said he was injured. Mr I cant save a freekick is going to kill us.Still behind Bafana Just pissed off with certain decisions been made.We trust a person that does not even have an average of 40%cleansheet when he plays and we leave a man who has a 68% avarage. South Africans we so smart.

My man when we discuss football dont come with your hear and say come with facts if Motswaneng of Santos is the one that has a lot of cleansheets the why is Moneeb currently hailed as the Cleansheet king. Orlando Pirtes defense record beat everyones and they were followed by Santos. According to stats Bartman of Kaizer Chiefs is better than Khune he kept more clean sheets than Khune.Let me remind King Khune is the same one that cant arrange defence properly and position himself when penalties are taken Goals from Mayambela(cetltic 4-2 Chiefs 08/09season), Norway (SA 2-1 Norway), Cameroon (SA3 - 2 Cameroon), Alves (Brazil 1-0 SA), Xavi Alonso (Spain 3-2 SA)etc. Now Fistos please get tapes of all those matches and look at how your no.1 cant defend a direct set Piece. Is not Funny that our No.1 Goal Keeper is not even in the top 3 this year(Please dont use the injury as excuse because stats are based on perfomance rather the number of games played)even last he was not part of the top 3 ABSA Premiership goalie of the year yet you tell me his the best. I would rather have Baron between the post than Khune.

I agree with you except for jali but I would add Thabo Nthethe (Bloemfontein Celtic),Bongani Khumalo (SuperSport),Thulani Serero (Ajax CT),Daylon Claasens as the other people that might be axed but lookin at these possibilities are you aware of talent being thrown away. But come 11 june 2010 I will be sitting in soccer city watch the boys win(Hopefully)

Mr Matwetwe: 2010-03-17 20:03

Smallicious me-auti please dont make a fool of yourself, how is possible that you draft a list of players that will be sent home while you have never even sean a single match B/B played in brazil, thanks to our brilliant SABC thats funded from our TAX MONEY, you never even saw a clip of them training in Brasil. Pereira is not a fool like you, he chose each player for reason & he will use these matches to asses which player is capeble of being more relevent to his system. You chiefs fans are disgusting sometimes, even in times like this you still separate yourself from everyone. CHIEFS is a product of SA football, not the otherway arround, so you must learn to be a bit more honoureble to SA football & stop critising every player that isnot from chiefs. Let the technical team do what we pay them millions to do.
