Ronaldinho fighting for Brazil place

Ronaldinho is fighting to save his Brazil career and head to the World Cup this summer, says his brother and agent Roberto De Assis.

His resurgence at Milan has been overlooked by Selecao coach Carlos Dunga, having been snubbed for the friendly against Ireland last week. Dunga has made it clear that 'Dinho's place is less than guaranteed.

But that has not discouraged the ace, who has made it his personal objective to prove the coach wrong.

"I am supporting Ronaldinho and I hope he takes part in another World Cup," De Assis told SporTV.

"He is working hard as he waits for a call. Every athlete at this level always thinks about this possibility. His dream all his life has been to wear the Brazil shirt."

Brazil kick off their World Cup adventure on June 15 against North Korea. They then meet the Ivory Coast five days later, and finally Portugal on June 25.

@juan pablo:i agree with u there my man, i dnt see why Dinho cannot come to SA in June except that Dunga is jealous, the football he's playin now is top class...yes he's not as quick as 3-4yrs ago bt he is a genius on the pitch.Shame on you Dunga!!!!

well how do u xplain the exclusion of one of the most xciting if nt most xciting players in Serie A frm national team? Without Ronaldinho Brazil plays a boring direct football jst like Europeans nw.the flair and skill that we used 2 c in players like juninho,rivaldo,ronaldo,denilson,etc is no lnger there nw. Even Robinho nw plays a more direct style.

Wow, Ronaldingho has to proof to the coach, That is very healthy and good for Brazilian football unlike our bigheaded McCarthy who thinks that he is bigger than Football and doesn't need to kick soccer to proof his worth. If you don't behave u get a chop, finish and klaar.

@nsilulu, I beg to differ with u there my man. Brazil came here during the Confed. Cup and actually won it without him and produced some class in their performance and were unbeaten in all their games. Obviously I will also like to c him here bt he must behave full stop.

Dunga is doing injustice to World Football. No coach in his right mind will leave a player of Ronaldinho's calibre. His form at the moment speaks for itself...he DESERVES to be included in the WC team. He's by far one of the best players of the recent generation. . . Top 20 in the world; if not 10.

How on earth do u select Baptista over Dhino?
Dunga is making a big mistake, the public is going to eat him alive should brasil fail to win this cup. I would select Pato over Baptista because of his age since he's troubled by injuries. as for Dhino the form speaks for itself. after the world cup Dunga will be fired because IVC will beat Brazil.

Brazil is not mickey-mouse like mzansi.1) Dunga won the South American title after kaka and Dinho sold him out when fans wanted him out with Robinho as playmaker.2.) kaka the gentleman he is made up and he was recalled 3.) Dunga qualified for the WC top of group, won the Confed without Dinho. 4.) In fact was has Dinho done in the Brazillian shirt except score a wind assisted goal against seamen. 5.)Scolari, won after snubbing Romario after the whole country including the president called for him. 6.) Brazil has so many stars today not in the selecao including the in-form Ronaldo, Diego etc. Pato is not in too. Elber and many others never made it too in the past!!!!Is this not the same Dinho that fans destroyed his statue for lack of form in the selecao. brazil is not mzansi!!!!

@lehlohonolo:i hear what you sayin my man, bt im talkin about attracting and entertaining brazilian football, we all know how brazil can do these both and still win the World Cup...thats where Dinho comes in, and i mean if the criteria is form..surely he deserves to be in the team.The fact is Dunga has something against Ronaldinho period!!!He still remains the god of football...in my books bytheway!!!
