Bryce over the Moon

Bafana Bafana defender Bryce Moon jetted off back to Greece yesterday a happy man.
Not only is Moon jubilant about his performance during the international friendly game against Namibia at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Wednesday, but also about meeting soccer legend and former Brazil national team captain Cafu during the Bafana camp in Durban.
Moon, along with Germany-based defender Bradley Carnell, was one of the few overseas-based players recalled by the Bafana technical team for the mid-week game against Namibia which ended in 1-1.
Although he did not win the Man of the Match award which went to Golden Arrows midfielder Thanduyise Khuboni, the former Ajax Cape Town defender was one of the best performers in Bafana colours and was instrumental in setting up South Africa's goal in the second half which was scored by Mamelodi Sundown striker Katlego Mphela.
Moon says he had the privilege to talk to Cafu during his visit.
"It was really great honour to meet a person of Cafu's caliber, a player that has won the World Cup three times and won more than 100 caps for his national team.
"We did not speak much about football, only about a few Brazilian players that are playing in Greece, but his presence at training was great inspiration and that's why I tried to give my best during the game against Namibia."
The Panathinaikos defender currently on loan to Greek Super League team, PAOK Athens, conceded that he was disappointed by being overlooked by former Bafana coach Joel Santana.
"Like any player I always like to represent my country, but I never gave up hoping and continued to work hard at club level where I have been rewarded with more regular action recently," Moon told KickOff.com at the OR Tambo airport last night before jetting off to Greece.
