Manchester United have reportedly decided against signing a certain African star.

Manchester United are now said to have made up their mind about the possibility of signing a highly sought-after African star who has 27 goals to his name this season.

It remains unclear how much spending power United will have in the next transfer window, bearing in mind the Premier League's profit and sustainability regulations.

What is certain, though, is that the club is keen to bring in reinforcements in key positions, with various reports having suggested a centre-back, a midfielder and a striker are a priority ahead of next season.

United were linked with various forwards in January, including Thomas Muller, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, and Timo Werner before he joined Tottenham Hotspur on loan.

Another player who was on the Red Devils' radar at the time is Serhou Guirassy, scorer of 27 goals so far this season for VfB Stuttgart.

Despite only trailing Bayern Munich's Harry Kane in terms of goals in the Bundesliga, it appears the Guinea talisman is no longer the subject of interest from United.

According to GiveMeSport, Guirassy is not a target for the Manchester club in the next window, despite his relatively low release clause of £15 million (R356 million).

The report claims that the Red Devils are concerned about his age and record, and are more interested in signing up a younger striker than the 28-year-old.

It also noted that the English giants would be unlikely to get much resale value if things did not work out for the Guinean at Old Trafford.
