Former Orlando Pirates star Thembinkosi Lorch was at the centre of the celebrations after his Mamelodi Sundowns thumped Kaizer Chiefs by a whopping five goals to one.
The score-line was one that the Amakhosi faithful will hope to forget quickly. It was also one that saw the Brazilians clinch their seventh consecutive league title.

Among those that got on the scoresheet for Masandawana was Tashreeq Matthews who netted a double, South American duo Matías Esquivel and Lucas Ribeiro Costa, as well as the ex-Soweto man Lorch.
As the team celebrated a resounding victory and a league title in their dressing room, the 30-year-old's name and number 45 could be spotted amid songs of victory and champagne-firing.

Speaking amid the celebrations during a triumphant evening, Lorch stated to Downs' official account that he was joyful after conquering South Africa's top-flight.
"I knew it when I came here: the first thing is to win the league. I've never won a league before. I've won the other cups but I've never won the league. And I'm happy. I'm grateful for the opportunity," he said.
Matthews, meanwhile, expressed the same sentiment after his double helped the side to victory.
"My very first league title that I've ever won in my professional football career. [It's] exciting. The joy is there, excitement is there. I just can't wait to lift the trophy," the former Sirius FC star said.
